The wildly anticipated Apple iPad hits store shelves Saturday. A day ahead of the launch, publishers, game companies, and others unleashed a torrent of announcements touting their apps for the iPad. Here's a quick look at what's coming.

Famed for its home delivery of movies on DVD, Netflix has added streaming video to its repertoire. Its iPad app here shows a movie being streamed on the Apple tablet. The app is free, said Netflix, adding: "Streaming to iPad is at no additional cost to Netflix members on plans starting at just $8.99 a month."

HTC HD2 - black (T-Mobile)

It's been a long wait but the HT HUD2 is now officially available from T-Mobile. Much like the unlocked version, which we reviewed in February, the smart phone offers awesome features, such as a luxurious 4.3-inch capacitive touch screen, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, and a 5-mega pixel camera. But T-Mobile sweetens the deal by reloading the device with a ton of entertainment apps. However, the question is not so much whether the HUD2 is awesome (because it is), but whether it's worth getting, now that Windows Phone 7 Series has been announced.

Apple patent suggests ticket sales on iTunes

Apple wants to sell concert tickets on tunes and deliver the goods directly to your iPhone or pod Touch, according to a patent filed by the company.

The system is called Concert Ticket +, and the folks at Patently Apple have whipped out their Slap Chop and broken it down into easily digestible chunks. Concert Ticket + features the ability to include special offers with the ticket, such as discounted food at the venue, or fire off media files to a ticket-holder's phone, such as a recording of the concert.
